Overview
PNP Foundation successfully conducted an interactive art-based climate awareness session under the theme “Youth as Leaders of Change in Climate Action.” The activity brought together young artists and participants from refugee and host communities to use creative expression as a tool for environmental education and advocacy.
Participants worked in teams to illustrate real-life environmental challenges and practical solutions. Through collaborative drawing, they demonstrated how young people can become active leaders in protecting natural resources, promoting sustainable practices, and inspiring positive change within their communities.
Activity Highlights
Throughout the session, participants produced artwork reflecting:
- Tree planting and environmental restoration.
- Community clean-up initiatives.
- Sustainable agriculture and home gardening.
- Protection of water sources.
- Waste management and recycling.
- Refugee and host community collaboration in environmental conservation.
- Youth-led initiatives for climate resilience.
Each group presented its artwork, explaining the environmental message behind the illustrations and discussing practical actions communities can take to address climate change.
Impact
The activity strengthened participants’ understanding of climate action while encouraging teamwork, creativity, leadership, and problem-solving. It also provided a platform for young people to express their ideas and propose community-driven solutions to environmental challenges.
Through visual storytelling, participants demonstrated that climate action begins with individual responsibility and collective community efforts.
